We built this Scalextrics track last year, since then we have accumulated even more track. We have a plan to build a bigger track, but this time it will require a sunny day and the use of our garden. I think we have enough track to fill up the garden with an awesome track. I might need to design it beforehand, so that we can built it as quickly as possible!

If you have ever flown on a plane and read the safety card then you will see the funny side from these parody airline safety procedures. It reminds me of the Fight Club and where they replace the safety cards on the plane of people burning in a crash. If you float over some of the images then you get different captions like “Look at your shoes, fucker! Get normal brown ones like mine!”.

I came across this great blog which has some classic games on it which you can play online. It includes one of my all time favorites International Karate+ for the Amiga, although when I was growing up I had it for the Commodore 64. I had completely forgotten how addictive that game was, but also how cutting edge at the time. I am sure that they will add more over time.

This amazing blogging bear has travelled around the world writing about his adventures for years. It is a joy to read about the places he goes, some which are local, but some are places the average person won’t even get to see. He has been everywhere from Japan to America with quite a few stops in-between. His style of writing is very indicative of a tiny bear and personally hope that he continues to blog for many years to come.

Roller Coaster Designer is a website I just fell upon when I was looking for something fun on the internet. The object of this website is to create a roller coaster and rack up a certain amount of points in each level. When you first start you are give a red line with a few square markers throughout. You can adjust these square markers to go up and down and you need to create enough momentum to get the roller coaster to take off but also to ride the rest of the ride smoothly. It seems easy enough but when you start you soon realize it is not as easy as it looks.

I started the first one thinking “How hard can this be?”. I would need at least 50 points in round one to go to the next level. I adjusted my marker to have a drop in the beginning of the ride and when I finished I clicked GO! Yeah, not even close. My coaster went down the slope and then barely made it up the coaster before it slowly rocked back and ended up stuck. So I started over again, same problem. Why was I not able to get this roller coaster to take off? I adjusted it some more the third time around and also adjusted some of the other markers. This time my coaster flew over the slope and went crazy over the other small slopes I had created and my passenger looked ill and was knocked out from my coaster! So now I knew this game needed time and some thinking put in to it. I played with it a little, tried over and over again until was finally able to get my coaster to the end without making my passenger ill or causing him to pass out on my roller coaster! So now I was on to level two, more pressure! On level two I needed to get 100 points to pass and I noticed that there were a few more markers to adjust which made this game a little more difficult but just as fun and addictive. So I tried. And tried, at least ten times it felt like! I would adjust my markers and hit GO! And I would watch my rider and sometimes he would turn green and sometimes I would knock him unconscious. I was learning that I was not the best roller coaster designer. After about 15 times I finally passed this level and made it to level 3. Oh man, level 3 required 200 points to pass, was I going to be able to pass this level? More markers made for a more difficult game, but I was ready for the challenge. I tried again, put all I had in to creating an awesome coaster. Did I do it? Yeah after about I don’t know how many times! I felt like I was constantly knocking my passenger unconscious over and over and he threw up more than once. So I changed my markers in different areas and tried to create one a roller coaster that was smooth, fast, and did not make my passenger want to hurl! I did it! I thought I was going to have to give up at that point but I made it to the next level, level 4. In level 4 I would need 300 points, seriously I knew there was no way I was going to pass this but hey let’s give it a shot anyway. The hard thing about this game is that when you move one marker all the other markers move as well causing the coaster to have numerous large and steep slopes so you have to take the time to adjust them all little by little until your rider is able to get through the ride without hurling. I adjusted some markers and went for it. Not only did I make my passenger barf, pass out I only got 52 points. This was going to be HARD! I tried a few more times and when I noticed that I had been clenching my jaw I called it quits! I got in to this game and I really wanted to pass but it beat me, beat me good. If you play this game enjoy it, it is fun and may actually keep you busy for a bit, it kept me busy for a while!

I could spend hours upon hours on this website. Here you can make a face, any face and it looks like it was hand drawn with a pencil. You have so many things to choose from when creating your face. You can choose from many different styles of hair, the shape of the head, eyebrows, and glasses if you wanted to use them, eyes, nose, facial hair, lips and chin. You can change the opacity as well and change the size of everything you choose so your face can be very thin to very large! I tried one time to make my husband’s face. It took me about 30 minutes to get everything as close as possible to his face as I could. I did not let him see the final face until I was done and I have to say it looked very similar aside from the lips. I could not get the lips to look like his! I then sat on the website and made some other faces. I tried to make a very unattractive face and then a beautiful face. My unattractive face was just that! It really looks like a person. It reminds me of those “Most Wanted” posters that a victim has described to someone. It’s fun to just sit and create faces and see how many different ones you can come up with. If at any point while you are making the face and you do not like something you made you just need to click on that part of the face such as the nose and click delete. You can also take the part of the face you are adding and move it to where you want it on the face so someone could have a receding hairline or his/her eyes could be set very close together. It’s endless with this website! I tried to make my own face and it turned out to be harder than I thought. I spent about twenty minutes or so on it and when I was done I looked at it and I did a pretty good job, aside from my eyes. I looked like I had drank one too many bears or I was just overly tired. When you get on try and just make a random face at first to practice then you can start to mess with it more and make a face of someone you know. Also you can use the item scaler to spread apart eyes, eyebrows and pretty much anything else on the page. Just drag the + up and down or side to side and see what you come up with. This is one site that you can sit on and waste a lot of time!

One of my favorite sites that I found while browsing the internet was Hip Hop Reminders. When I first came by this site I thought it was a cute idea. I was very surprised to find that it held so many different names! It has different categories you can choose from but not as many as I would like to see. As I browsed through the various names it held I chose my husband’s name and chose the “Take out the trash” reminder and played it. I laughed out loud! It was not a long song but I liked it anyway. It had a hip hop beat just like the site said and the verse did not include a lot of words but I liked it. I waited until he got home and was not paying attention and decided to try it out. I have to say at first he was more surprised to hear his name in a song that to actually hear what the song was saying. Like I said the amount of names it held was great, I can never find his full name anywhere! So I played it and asked him what he thought and he said it was a good idea. There was also another hip hop song that you can use on your children such as BRUSH YOUR TEETH and WALK THE DOG. Those I found to be very cute. I played one for my son using the BRUSH YOUR TEETH version. I think the site would be used more if it had more songs added. As of now it only has 7 songs as follows: Do your homework, Brush your teeth, Take out the trash, Mow the lawn, Rake the leaves, Do the dishes and Walk the dog. I played one for my brother in law as well and he thought the site was a great idea but agreed that it needed to have more song additions. I don’t know what else to really say about the site only that it is a cute idea, the person who did the songs is really good and every once in a while when I get irritated that the garbage has piled up in the garbage can I play it instead of my usual nagging! It makes me look like less of a nagger and gets the point across to my husband! Try it out a few times and you will get hooked as well!

This website is fun! If you like looking at two different pictures and spotting the difference this one is it! You can browse through different categories such as photos, computer generated pictures and puzzles. I personally like the photos and can spend quite a bit of time looking at them and I always seem to miss something! After a while your eyes can strain from trying to find the missing object and the object can be so minute that you will miss it no matter how hard you look. It can be frustrating to try and get to the next level when you can’t find the smallest difference. You can choose from different categories as well from the left hand side. You can choose practice puzzles and choose from easy to expert. Hard is HARD! The photo that you will choose the difference on is the picture on the right hand side. The picture is actually moving which makes spotting the difference very difficult. Once you pass all the first levels you can try your hand at the next levels they offer. They start to become a little harder each time you pass. The touch thing about these games is if you click the “Give Up” button it will create another hidden picture for you to find which can be frustrating. You feel like you have found everything and yet you have not. The levels are coded by color and items and your goal is to reach the BLACK level. I have made it to the PINK level and at that point I needed to give my eyes a break! The higher you go up in level the more hidden things you have to find and they are hidden very well. I ended up giving up on level HEART because I could no longer see straight after looking at the photo, it was moving a little too much for me to spot the difference so I decided I was done! Best thing to do is just take your time and look closely at everything. Sometimes the images that are different are just a minute size larger or smaller and that’s what will get you. It is fun though; you can get pretty far in the game if you have patience.
